The Clinical and Epidemiological Investigation Centre (CIEC) at LIH is dedicated to promoting and supporting local research projects while aiding researchers in substantiating experimental findings through high-quality clinical research involving both patients and healthy individuals.
As a Clinical Research Nurse, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the investigator and the medical team throughout all phases of a study.
- Coordinating and managing the research protocol, actively participating in data collection and its efficient management.
- Executing nurse-related tasks as outlined in the clinical research protocol.
- Engaging in communication initiatives related to clinical research.

Key Accountabilities
As a Clinical Research Nurse, your primary responsibilities will encompass:
- Ensuring a comprehensive understanding and successful execution of the clinical research protocol.
- Actively participating in participant information and recruitment, including obtaining informed consent in close collaboration with the lead physician and organizing clinical visits.
- Conducting nursing activities and providing support to the clinical team as outlined in the protocol.
- Collecting and transferring biological samples to the designated laboratories following protocol procedures.
- Managing data, including the collection of clinical data, pseudonymization, coding, case filing, monitoring, and related tasks.
- Overseeing data safety reporting.
- Maintaining and managing study equipment.
- Assisting in both internal and external project meetings.
- Engaging in specialized training as required for the specific study.
- Promoting clinical research to healthcare professionals and the general public.
Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A nursing degree with working authorization in Luxembourg.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare network.
- A valid driving license, category B.
- Preferred experience in clinical research and/or oncology or neurology.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- A strong desire to learn, proactive attitude, excellent organizational skills, effective communication abilities, responsibility, and flexibility.
- Proficiency in IT skills, including the MS Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and experience with patient databases.
- Language proficiency in Luxembourgish, French, English, and German (Portuguese considered an asset).
