The Clinical and Epidemiological Investigation Centre (CIEC) at LIH is dedicated to promoting and supporting local research projects while aiding researchers in substantiating experimental findings through high-quality clinical research involving both patients and healthy individuals.

As a Clinical Research Nurse, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating with the investigator and the medical team throughout all phases of a study.
  2. Coordinating and managing the research protocol, actively participating in data collection and its efficient management.
  3. Executing nurse-related tasks as outlined in the clinical research protocol.
  4. Engaging in communication initiatives related to clinical research.

Key Accountabilities

As a Clinical Research Nurse, your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  1. Ensuring a comprehensive understanding and successful execution of the clinical research protocol.
  2. Actively participating in participant information and recruitment, including obtaining informed consent in close collaboration with the lead physician and organizing clinical visits.
  3. Conducting nursing activities and providing support to the clinical team as outlined in the protocol.
  4. Collecting and transferring biological samples to the designated laboratories following protocol procedures.
  5. Managing data, including the collection of clinical data, pseudonymization, coding, case filing, monitoring, and related tasks.
  6. Overseeing data safety reporting.
  7. Maintaining and managing study equipment.
  8. Assisting in both internal and external project meetings.
  9. Engaging in specialized training as required for the specific study.
  10. Promoting clinical research to healthcare professionals and the general public.

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A nursing degree with working authorization in Luxembourg.
  • A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare network.
  • A valid driving license, category B.
  • Preferred experience in clinical research and/or oncology or neurology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • A strong desire to learn, proactive attitude, excellent organizational skills, effective communication abilities, responsibility, and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, including the MS Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and experience with patient databases.
  • Language proficiency in Luxembourgish, French, English, and German (Portuguese considered an asset).
